Nationals Senate Leader Bridget McKenzie says there is “little relief” for renters and mortgage holders in Treasurer Jim Chalmers's budget.

Unemployment fell from 0.1 per cent to four per cent in May.

“Jim Chalmers may be talking a soft landing, but there’s hard decisions being made at kitchen tables right across the country because interest rates aren’t going down,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News Australia.

“For renters and for mortgage holders, there is little relief here.”
